There are four toilets around the central facilities area. Toilet paper is provided.

Bar, Meals and Dining

Campers are welcome to make use of the honesty bar at the main lodge, as well as the books and games present there. Please make sure that you make a note of your drinks on the tab provided, so that these can be added to your bill, and that games or books are put away when you are finished with them.

The following meals are available upon request from the main lodge restaurant:

  • Breakfast: Cereal, Fruit and Cooked Breakfast - $12.00
  • Lunch: Cold Meat, Cheese, Salad, Bread and Pickles - $12.00
  • Supper: Three courses (Soup, Self-service main, Dessert) - $18.00

Meals should be booked in reception no less than 4 hours in advance. Meals are fixed menu, but most dietary requirements can be catered to, these should be noted at the time of booking meals.

Campsite Room

This small, thatched oval room has two single beds and a mosquito net with mattresses, bedding and towels provided. It can be booked for $36 pppn.

Swimming

Swimming is safe as there are no crocodiles, and bilharzia is not known from the Musamfushi and Mutinondo rivers. Please respect the currents near waterfalls and when the river is in flood, as they can be strong and dangerous.

We also ask that you be aware that riverside rocks can be steep and slippery, and take care when getting in and out.

Refuse

As guests are probably aware, plastic and metal waste can be hazard for wildlife and the environment, even if buried or burnt. We do not have a waste-collection service at Mutinondo Wilderness, so we ask that campers take any non-compostable waste that they generate away with them - so please bring suitable bins or bags for this purpose. Compostable waste - such as food, cardboard and paper (but please no glossy paper) - can be disposed of in the bins provided.

Thank for helping us to keep the Mutinondo Wilderness Area pristine.
